Walk 14: Old route to Walgrave via Mawsley

The “Broughton Bystander’ is back again with his fourth “Walk from my Doorstep”

This time he’s taking us on a 10.5 mile circular walk that we really like the look of &, to be honest, we’d never heard of ‘Badsaddle’! Is this some cause of pain after a long day’s horse riding we ask ourselves?

The walk sets out from his home in Broughton & takes in Mawsley, beautiful Old (oh how we wish the ‘The White Horse’ was open), before crossing to Walgrave, Badsaddle & then back to Broughton

It also passes through an area called ‘Old Poor’s Gorse’. We love such names & often wonder where they came from. There is reference to it in several local books that we found at the link below…
