The Jurassic Way

Two of my followers, Sarah & Ann decided to undertake the Jurassic Way Long Distance Footpath which runs between the Oxfordshire town of Banbury, through Northamptonshire to the Lincolnshire town of Stamford

I decided to include a dedicated Jurassic Way section on the website, given that most of the footpath is in Northamptonshire

The Jurassic Way largely follows an ancient ridgeway traversing Britain. The Northamptonshire section is on the Jurassic limestone ridge in the north of the county. I have walked many parts of it on other walks, but never the full length

It connects with these long-distance footpaths:

The ancient trackway on which the Jurassic Way is based most likely continued at each end, possibly linking the River Severn with the River Humber
